Ready for Christmas 2012!

Hi!

For you who followed our Advent Calendar during December, you might have noticed there were different tags each day:

All tags are made with the December Kit + stuff from the ad on section

What I like most about these tags are that they can be used over and over again for the coming Christmases. So next December I have tags ready for the kids' countdown calendar. I still haven't made up my mind if to
  • give them small gifts each day (you now, stuff they need anyway like socks, rubbers and pencils, and a piece of candy now and then)
  • or write small notes on the tags with invitations to a join me for a Christmas preparation activity, like "You are invited to bake gingerbread cookies with me tonight" or "Let's go shop the gift to grandpa".
  • Or I could mix?

Another great thing about making tags for the Count Down Calendar is that you can use scraps. I used mainly the December Kit, but you can use whatever you have: pieces of different collections, one-of-a-kind stickers or embellishments, the numbers on your thicker sheets that always seem to be unused etc etc.

So why don't you start now, pull out the scraps and become prepared for Christmas 2012?

Here are all the tags I made for the Nook Advent Calendar:

Tag 1-8

Tag 9-17

Tag 18-25

Happy creating!

My Scrapbooknook Advent Calendar December 24th

Hello!

It's always ineteresting to learn how people celebrate Christmas around the world. I some parts of the world, the 24th is the most important day (like in Norway, where I live), but in others, the 25th is. It's fun to think some Australian has beach parties as a Christmas tradition, but I bet the Canadians are hope for a White Christmas.

So what about you? What is your Christmas like?

Today's host is someone who probably wants a white Christmas: Jennie from Sweden. Head over to her blog to see what she has for you, and wish her a Merry Christmas, as Christmas Eve is The Day in Sweden!

PS, today is the last day to leave a comment on Leah's blog post, to be entered into the drawing of a free subscription to the Nook Kit.

My Scrapbook Nook Advent Calendar December 23rd

Hello again!

Made with My Scrapbook Nook December kit + ad ons

If I was an Air Line Company, and you were using one of my planes every time you moved from one country to another during this Calendar Hop, I would be rich *lol*

Today we're going to an exotic place: an island called Iceland! Iceland has been in the news for both the financial crises and stunning nature including vulcano eruptions, but the country has a lot more than that: fish, ponies, great shopping facilities, an outstanding night life and not to forget, the super talented scrapper, one of My Scrapbook Nook's DT members, Anna Sigga!

I know Anna Sigga has been looking forward to hosting today's post for a long time, so please pay her blog a visit, find out what she has for you today and leave her a comment to get a chance to win her RAK.

PS, you have today and tomorrow to leave a comment on Leah's blog, to get a ticket to the Big Lottery!

My Scrapbook Nook Advent Calendar December 22th

Hello!

Made with My Scrapbook Nook December Kit + ad ons

As I have metnioned earlier, My Scrapbook Nook friends is indeed an international group of talented scrappers. Yesterday we visited Sweden in our Advent Calendar, today we're going far, far more south, to South Africa to visit Sam.

Having scrapping friends all over the world, has made me used to working within different time zones. I know my US friends are 6-9 hours behind me, the Australians 7-9 hours in front of me and that the Europeans are equal +/- 1-2 hours. It's quite interesting then to see that Durban, South Africa, where Sam lives,  is in the same zone, when the journey there take half a day, longer than to New York or Ottawa :-)

Let's visit Sam today and see what she has for us in todays Calendar Post. Take a look at the clock in the left bar on her page and notice what time it is. Did you get surprised?

Have a happy Thursday, no matter in which time zone you are!

designer showcase - trio of tags

Hi everyone, Gina here to share this little challenge with you... I've been gathering some Christmas inspiration from Pinterest these last few weeks and can't help but notice some of the gorgeous tags being pinned...here's just a small selection of some that have caught my eye..

so I decided to make these tags using some left overs from the gorgeous December kit..

for the first tag, I've used a piece of 'ski lodge' paper and smaller piece of 'present' then scraped some gesso on and added some chipboard pieces, stickers and little pearl..to finish I've added faux stitching in white pen

for this winter themed tag I've used the 'snow globe' and 'embellish' papers and added some chipboard, stickers and hand cut snowman from the 'present' paper..

for the last tag, I've stencilled the herringbone pattern with mist, then added some stickers, and scraps of the 'present' paper..

so I'd love it if you could have a go at making some tags..not necessarily for Christmas, but maybe a birthday or other occasion!.. Don't forget to share them in this thread if you do!

best wishes,
Gina x
