June Featured Cardie ~ Shilo Miles

Can you believe it's June already?...that must mean it's time to welcome another fabulous featured cardie!  This month at the Nook we are featuring the lovely Shilo Miles!! Shilo is from Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada..

Shilo has kindly answered a few questions for us here:

*How long have you been making cards?
I first started papercrafting about 10 years ago...and I was intent on the fact that I was a scrapbooker NOT a cardmaker!....somewhere along the line I made my first card...and got hooked! I would say I've been at it now for at least 6 years.

*Can you describe your cardmaking style?
I would say that my cards are pretty eclectic. I can go from simple & clean lines to fancy & girly. For the most part I create somewhere in the middle. I tend to use lots of layers with lots of patterns.

*Where do you find your inspiration?
I spend a fair amount of time on Pinterest. Tons & tons of ideas on there...so many talented people. I also visit the 2peas gallery daily...I actually feel like I'm missing something if I miss a day in their gallery....silly right?? But I also find inspiration from paper.....I love mixing and matching patterns and colors..and that will often be my jumping off point. Or from a stamp I just have to use!

*What embellishments and techniques do you love to use?
I tend to use a lot of spellbinders dies on my cards, plus machine sewing, stamps, distress ink & dimensional adhesive. Buttons, ribbon, photo corners & paper doilies seem to keep showing up in my cards a lot lately.

*What is your favourite colour combination?
I can't say that I have a color combo that I go to repeatedly...hmmm.....I love bright colors! I seem to be creating lots lately with a rainbow color scheme. I also love kraft....with almost every color.

*What other paper crafts do you enjoy doing?
I scrapbook, create mini albums and I have a new found love for creating banners.

and here's a few of Shilo's gorgeous cards..
